  • Media Release

Christmas has come early for the McWhirter [consulting] team who are celebrating the recent amicable take over of operations and clients currently being serviced by Sydney based firm, BGIT. It is a move which consolidates McWhirter [consulting]'s position as a leading provider of Free Software and Open Source integration and migration services.

"While this is an exciting time for us, it has been a smooth and comforting time for the clients of BGIT as they transition to McWhirter [consulting]" Founder and Managing Director, Craige McWhirter said. "BGIT had a savvy set of clients who are used to the reliability, flexibility, long life cycles and cost effectiveness that Free and Open Source Software can bring. With McWhirter [consulting] they can expect this to be continued and extended".

While McWhirter [consulting] provide expertise in a range Free Software services and distributions, such as Debian, SuSE (Novell) and RedHat linux, it is in the world's most popular Linux distribution and emerging corporate product, Ubuntu, that this take over has it's greatest significance. McWhirter [consulting] now believes it has the largest installed base of Ubuntu business solutions in Sydney.

Craige said "It's great to be at the forefront of providing Ubuntu Linux business and education solutions. It's a nice reward for our passion of delivering excellence and taking pride in our work".

"I'd also like to congratulate Steve Gilles and the BGIT team for having run such a great organisation providing valued FOSS services. I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours" added Craige McWhirter.
